Barnes Beats 'em Again at DR

(Thornburg, VA - 5/6/17)  Not even a little wet weather could slow down Doug Barnes Jr. (#88) in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series presented by Papa Johns.  Barnes took command early and dominated the 75 lap event.  Tyler Hughes (#8) and (#7) Michael Hardin had a good battle for second with Hughes taking that spot.  Colin Garrett (#24) impressed on his first visit to Dominion, he backed up his strong qualifying run with a 4th place finish.  The (#82B) of Cameron Burke rounded out the top 5.

A fuel sample from the top 5 late model cars was taken and will be tested.  Results and any changes in the finishing order will be certified on Tuesday.

The Summit Electrical Dominion Stock delighted the fans with a lot of side by side racing and a bit of fender rubbing.  When the smoke cleared (#57) Richard Powers was in Radley Chevrolet Victory Lane; (#1) Michael Munley finished second.

During post race inspection the cars of Barry Beebe (#79) and (#3) Gary Burke did not meet rule specifications and the finishing order will be amended and released on Tuesday

The D & L Mechanical U Cars saw Don Schumann (#11) take the early lead as (#09) Ryan Pritt raced from the back of the pack, eventually passing Schumann for the win.  Aaron Donnelly (#31) finished 2nd, Schumann 3rd.

Veteran Bobby Abel (#58) won the Mini Modified event, holding off (#44) Mike Carte in a thrilling side by side battle.

Certified results will be released on Tuesday.
